Educational Qualification Details
1. Engine Driver –Qualification: Matriculation pass from a recognized Board or equivalent.Essential: Certificate of competency as Engine Driver from a recognized Govt. Institute or equivalent.Desirable: Two years service as Sarang on a vessel of over four hundred Boat Horse power.
2. Sarang Lascar –Qualification: Matriculation pass from a recognized Board or equivalent.Essential: Certificate of competency as Sarang from a Govt. recognized Institute or equivalent.Desirable: Two years experience as Sarang in-charge of a vessel of twenty Horse power.
3. Fire Engine Driver –Essential:(i) Matriculation pass from a recognized Board or equivalent.(ii) Possessing heavy vehicle driving license with three years experience of driving heavy vehicles in any of private or Government Organisation/ Institute.Desirable:(i) Experience with the use, maintenance and operation of different types of Fire Fighting equipments and appliances and(ii) Experience of working in a regular civil or Defence Fire Brigade as Fireman.
4. Fireman –Essential: (a) Matriculation pass from a recognized Board or equivalent. (b) Should be physically fit and capable of performing strenuous duties.Note :- The physical fitness shall be tested as per the following physical standards :-(i) Height without shoes – 165 Cms. provided that a concession of 2.5 Cms in height shall be allowed for members of the Scheduled Tribes and candidates of hilly areas.(ii) Chest (unexpanded) – 81.5 Cms(iii) Chest (on expansion) – 85 Cms(iv) Weight – 50 Kg (Min)(v) Endurance Test: (1) Carrying a man weighing 63.5 Kgs by fireman lift up to a distance of 183 meters within 96 seconds. (2) Clearing 2.7 meters wide ditch by landing on both feet (long jump). (3) Climbing 3 meters vertical rope by hands and feet.
5. Civilian Motor Transport Driver (Ordinary Grade) –Essential:(i) 10th standard pass.(ii) Must possess valid driving licence for both heavy and light motor vehicles.(iii) Should have at least two years experience in driving motor vehicles.(iv) Knowledge of motor mechanism (should be able to remove minor defects in vehicles).Desirable: Qualification
6. Motor Transport Fitter –Essential:(i) Matriculation or equivalent.(ii) Two years experience in automobile workshop.Desirable: I.T.I. diploma in relevant trade.
7. Store Keeper Grade II –Essential:(i) 12th pass from recognized Board or University.(ii) One year’s experience in handling stores from any recognized firm or Central or State Govt organization or Public Sector Undertakings.
8. Spray Painter –Qualification: Matriculation pass or its equivalent from recognized boardsEssential: Should have completed apprenticeship in the trade from Industrial Training Institute or other recognized institutions.Desirable: 02 years experience in the trade.
9. Motor Transport Mechanic –Essential:(i) Matriculation or equivalent.(ii) Two years experience in automobile workshop.Desirable: I.T.I. diploma in relevant trade.
10. Lascar –Essential:(i) Matriculation pass or its equivalent from recognized boards.(ii) Three years experience in service on Boat.

Selection Process
Selection Procedure: The selection of candidates will be based only on the merit in written examination. However, the skill / physical tests wherever required will be conducted, but will only be qualifying in nature with no bearing on the overall merit. Exact date, time and venue of written examination, skill / practical test will be communicated vide call letter issued to the short listed candidates.
(i) Written test : Written test is to be conducted for Group ‘C’ and upgraded Group ‘C’ posts. The qualifying marks in written exam is 50% and the candidates who qualify the written test are to be shortlisted for the trade test (where applicable). In case of SC and ST candidates, the qualifying marks shall be 45%. No relaxation in qualifying marks is admissible to OBC and EWS candidates.
(ii) Trade / Skill Test : Trade/skill tests are devised to check the performance / aptitude of a candidate for the said trade. Separate skill tests are to be administered for each trade. The candidates who qualify the written test are to appear for the trade/skill test. The trade/skill test wherever required will only be qualifying in nature and shall have no bearing on the overall merit.
